The Six Bells is a perfect country escape set on the edge of the village green, near the duck pond in the pretty Suffolk village of Bardwell. Originating in the late 1500s, the Inn was enlarged in the 19th century and more recently by ourselves. It now offers a characterful blend of old and new. Totally surrounded by countryside, it offers total peace and tranquillity, great food and a country atmosphere. Yet due to good major roads links of the M11/A11 & A14 it is a surprisingly easy drive from London and the Midlands. |

COUNTRY DINING AND TRADITIONAL WARMTH We offer all the delights
of a Country Inn - excellent food and drink in a friendly and hospitable
atmosphere. Gordon Ferguson and his team prepare a varying 3 course
Dinner menu each evening. The dishes range from the contemporary to the
traditional. Prime local produce, fresh fish, Suffolk pork and lamb, and game
in season are prepared daily for you to enjoy. We also offer a limited
vegetarian menu and a small evening supper menu. We can prepare additional
vegetarian dishes, gluten free dishes and cater for other dietary needs if we
are advised of your requirements prior to your stay. We offer a traditional
English Breakfast featuring our butcher’s (the butcher is based in the
neighbouring village) homemade pork chipolatas, Suffolk produced bacon and
homemade marmalade. Since our guests spend
their days away from the Inn exploring the many places to visit in East Anglia
we no longer open for lunch. There is a natural and comforting ambience to our country-style beamed dining room with its old Suffolk range making it a lovely setting for your dinner. Furthermore, our pretty conservatory with its views over the garden and countryside provides a light and airy complimentary dining area. |

PEACE AND TRANQUILLITY. BEDROOMS WITH A COTTAGE ATMOSPHERE. Next to the Inn, our old
barn and stables have been converted into ten comfortable cottage-style
bedrooms. Each is individually colour co-ordinated with solid pine furniture
and en suite shower-room. Situated on the ground floor, they offer you a
peaceful and charming retreat with lovely views over the unspoilt East
Anglian countryside but with all modern facilities - colour TV and radio,
complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, individually controllable
heating and electric blanket. Extras such as a bottle of wine or champagne or a basket of flowers in the room can be arranged. |
